Considering it’s his first official release, Wedidit collective member D33J’s EP entitled “Tide Songs” is well accomplished and full of flavour. Threads of influence from Teebs and Flying Lotus tie together this simple five track release. You can listen to our favourite track ‘Sleeping Out’ in the player below and it’s free for download at d33j.bandcamp.com. Also well worth checking is this 17 minute mix by D33J & Mark Aubert, StarBase # 1.

Level Up! – Effin

One of our good friends DJ Effin just brought out this impressive mixtape called Level Up! to promote his style and “hit beatheads and the unconverted with a bass-laden audio kaleidoscope of the familiar and shit they never knew they’d like.” We’re talking about hip hop and experimental beats.. so check it out.

Effin is resident at Mandrake Bar in Los Angeles (2692 South La Cienega Boulevard) for the Cinesounds monthly. From 9 PM ’til 1, they add their own soundtracks to muted movies and their next night is Thursday, April 21st.
